2015 Calendar

Ikebana

April 14 – Creating Ikebana – Janet Solomon, a member of the Ikebana International Club , will present a short program about the history/theory of Ikebana. Memers interested may attend a hands-on demonstration following. The fee is $20 which includes supplies. Registration will take place during March meeting.

Container Garden

May 12 – Creating Beautiful Container Gardens – Master Gardeners, Barbara Stewart and Peter Lai, of Cornell Cooperative Extension Center will present a power point program on the construction of beautiful garden containers and show a finished product.

Spring Planting

May 21 & 22 – Spring Planting – Meet at Remembrance Place, 9:00am.

June 6 – Perennial Plant Sale – 9:00am - 12:00pm at the Community House, Milford

compost

June 9 – Biodynamic Compost Preparations – Dr. Basil Williams , basilw7@earthlink.net, will present a program about creating the best possible form/ratio of herbs/materials in the plant kingdom for use in soil compost preparation.

June 23 – District II/III Meeting – Hazelton Area Garden Club, Hazelton, PA

Grey Towers

July 14 – Regular Meeting at Grey Towers – Program presented by Beth Hawke.

Secret Garden Tour

July 18 – Secret Garden Tour – The 23rd Annual Secret Garden Tour is a much anticipated event each and every year. This year our Secret Garden Tour will take place from 10am to 4pm rain or shine. Advance ticket sales $15 per person. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased at Willow located at 317 Broad Street in Milford. Sorrentini Cherry Valley Vineyards

August 11 – Wines from the Heart – Mary Sorrenti, the owner of Sorrenti's Cherry Valley Vineyards, will present a program sharing some of her knowledge and expertise on grapes and vines and the care of them, followed by a wine tasting.

Victorian Tea

August 18 – Victorian Tea – Looking forward to our Victorian Tea party. This year it will be at St. Patrick's Church Hall. Tickets are required to participate in this festive event. More information forthcoming.

Essential Oils

September 8 – Essential Oils – Master Gardeners, Carole Liantonio and Cathy Dillon, of Cornell Cooperative Extension Center will present a power point program giving instruction on the preparation of oils derived from natural products and flowers for our personal use.

September 9 – District II/II Annual Meeting – Monroe County Garden Club, Shawnee on the Delaware.

Mum Sale

September 12 – Chrysanthemum Sale – This is a pre-order only event. When the pre-ordering process opens, an order form will be posted on this page.

September 18-19 – Art in Bloom – At Chant's Real Estate in Milford.

Fall Planting

September 22 – Fall Planting – We will meet at Remembrance Place (corner of West Ann Street and Elderberry Lane).

October 10 – Scarecrow & Pumpkin Carving Demo – This fun event is open to the public and is free. It will take place at the Community House, Milford from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

October 13 – Putting the Garden to Bed – Master Gardeners, Peter Lai and Patricia Seaman, of Cornell Cooperative Extension Center will present a power point program on "tucking-in" your garden for the winter.

Wreath

November 10 – Workshop Meeting – Helpful for personal holiday decorating.

November 17 – Workshop – Town decorations.

Christmas Decorations

November 20 & 21 – Christmas Decorating – Decorating of the boro and Grey Towers. Meeting location and time to be announced.

Christmas Party

December 8 – Christmas Party – The Milford Garden Club's Christmas party will take place at the Presbyterian Church.
